The Hispanic Institute at Hodges University will host a conference titled “Area Resources: Reaching underserved populations with compromised mental status in the areas of Alzheimer disease, drug/alcohol use and misuse, depression, and anxiety.” on Friday, October 26th at Hodges University from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
This is the first conference the Institute is hosting to raise awareness of the current mental health, socio-economic challenges and opportunities in working with the underserved elderly and other populations in local communities.
- To interpret the latest findings of collaborative research conducted by Hodges University faculty and the HI, in order to relate the results to the participants own practice base.
- Participants will be able to identify gaps in culturally competent services in key areas and understand the impact socio-economic status has on this issue.
- Participants will identify and choose local key resources that will help surmount the barriers to services.
