Inside the World’s Great Museums: The Louvre

The Louvre in Paris is probably the most famous art museum in the world with millions of visitors coming each year to look at its incredible collections. A universal museum, its collections span thousands of years of history and house many iconic Western artworks, from the Venus di Milo and Winged Victory to Leonardo’s Mona Lisa and Delacroix’s Liberty Leading the People. This class will look at works the Louvre lists as its two dozen masterpieces of all times, plus explore some of the museum’s other famous European paintings.
