Otto Immel, a labor and employment attorney, will discuss important legal issues in the hiring process and critical wage and hour issues for managers. He will present on topics including the proper completion of US Customs and Immigration form I-9, how to take corrective measures when dealing with problem employees and the importance of properly documenting performance issues. Finally, he will discuss the need for civility in the workplace, how to spot a workplace bully, and what to do about it. There will be a question and answer session following the workshop. Lunch will be provided.
Otto Immel is a partner at Quarles & Brady, a national law firm of over 425 attorneys, where he heads the Florida labor & employment practice. He has been a management-side labor and employment lawyer for 20 years and has worked with many institutions of higher education, including Hodges University, the University of Pennsylvania, Princeton University, Swarthmore College, and Haverford College. He graduated with honors from the Johns Hopkins University and Temple University School of Law and is a member of the bar in Florida, New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. He and his wife have lived in Naples for the last seven years.
