This presentation will cover the early life of Marjory Stoneman Douglas. The story starts in Victorian New England then moves to her time in Miami in the 1920’s, the boom & bust and the heady days at the Herald. Ms. Repko will also talk about Marjory Stoneman Douglas’ love of the Everglades and her attempts to save this area from development. Finally, your presentation will end with tributes, including discussion on “Marjory’s Army”, national recognition, and first-hand accounts of her life and work.
Join us Monday, July 18 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Barrington Terrace Learning Center, 5175 Tamiami Trail East, Naples.
Presented by Marya Repko.
