Fort Myers Campus -- Planned Giving Marketing & Stewardship
Results of planned giving marketing efforts for many gift planning programs are declining even though gift planners are being asked, as never before, to raise higher levels of unrestricted revenue from planned gifts. Add to the mix that the landscape in which gift planners’ work is shifting. The WWII generation is gone and Baby Boomers are now our audience. The rise of the internet and email raise questions about whether and how much investment should be made in online channels. What messages and formats will help me increase the number of qualified leads my marketing generates? To make informed decisions, it’s important to know what planned giving marketing and stewardship strategies and techniques are working.
In this workshop, you’ll learn best practices based on case studies of organizations realizing success in planned giving marketing and stewardship. You’ll also have the opportunity to put your new learning into practice with two interactive exercises. We hope you’ll bring with you to the workshop one of your key marketing pieces, for example a brochure, a solicitation letter, a legacy society welcome package. After the morning tutorial, you’ll be given the chance to develop a plan for modifying your piece based on the information presented. Working in small groups, you’ll share ideas and present to the whole. In the afternoon, after the stewardship tutorial, you’ll be provided with a marketing and stewardship plan template and be given the opportunity to draft your own plan based on the knowledge you’ve gained during the workshop
