Hodges University is grateful for the dedication and service of our armed forces. The Dr. Peter Thomas Veterans Services Center at Hodges University is committed to supporting today’s military veterans, active duty service members and their families in reaching their academic and career goals.
The center provides a variety of resources for student veterans including:
- GI Bill processing and information
- Details on available counseling
- Veterans organization contacts
- Community involvement
Support services focus on the special needs of today’s military veterans, service members and their families. Referrals are made to appropriate offices and/or outside resources that share our passion for veterans.
During the school year, student veterans and their families have opportunities to participate in a Veterans Meet & Greet prior to new student orientation, attend hockey and arena football games with other veterans and participate in golf scrambles.
The university flies the POW-MIA flag on both campuses and has a POW-MIA table set up in the cafeteria. Both campuses contain a dedicated space for the Veterans Services Center, the design of which was based on feedback from student veterans. In addition, according to the American Legion, Hodges University was the first college or university in the United States to have an American Legion Post on campus.
Hodges University is:
- a Yellow Ribbon Program participant,
- was awarded the 2015 Military Friendly Schools ®designation, and
- is a campus partner of the Got Your 6 initiative.
