Hodges University wins NAACP Award >

 
Hodges University has been awarded the 2008 Equity and Diversity Award by the Collier County chapter of the NAACP. The award was presented at the annual Freedom Fund dinner and ceremony held recently. The award is presented to an organization or company that is known for having a welcoming environment, a diverse workplace, family-friendly orientation and evidence of contributing to the community by enhancing diversity and equity in all aspects of its operations. Hodges was praised for its continued growth in minority students, its diverse student body and staff, as well as the planning and execution of an annual Diversity festival. "It is a great honor to receive this award from an organization that consists of people from all walks of life whose vision is a world of unity, justice and freedom for everyone,” said Dr. Terry McMahan, President of Hodges University. “We are proud to share in their vision and we support diversity in our area as we strive to deliver educational opportunities for all members of our community.” Hodges recently reported a 31% minority student population for the fall 2008 term, up from 25% in 2007.
