A professor at Hodges University since 2013, Patrick Callan’s history with the university stems back to 2007. Receiving his Bachelor of Science in accounting at Hodges in 2008, he was an academic peer tutor from 2007-2008. Looking to further his education, he earned a Master of Accounting in 2009 from Nova Southeastern University and a Juris Doctor in 2013 from the Ave Maria School of Law.

His professional experience includes working in construction management for the Georgia, South Carolina, Maryland and Florida Habitat for Humanity affiliates from 1996-2006. In the legal field, he spent time as a legal intern in the public defender’s office of the 20th Judicial Circuit of Florida, and he served as a judicial extern for the Honorable John E. Steele, the Honorable Robert L. Crongeyer and the Honorable Ramiro Mañalich.

Interested in teaching at the college level, he served as an academic peer tutor from 2007-2008 while as a student at Hodges. From 2010-2014, he was an adjunct accounting instructor and course developer for Florida Southwestern State College before coming back to Hodges to be an adjunct faculty, and currently, an assistant professor of accounting.

Callan is a certified public accountant with the Florida Board of Accountancy, and he is a member of The Florida Bar. His membership also extends to the Lee County Bar Association and the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

When he isn’t teaching, Callan enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, visiting the Florida beaches and volunteering.
