Spending more than 25 years as a law enforcement officer with the City of Cape Coral Police Department, Jeffrey Jones retired from the force as a master corporal, special services; Motorcycle Traffic division. Currently, he is completing his Ph.D. in public safety and is projected to complete the program in 2016. His research interests include direct and indirect responses of primary school students involved in school bullying.

During his time on the force, he served as a skilled law enforcement training officer who met state requirements for successful completion of structured class sessions. He also developed training for law enforcement personnel throughout five counties in Southwest Florida.

He has received numerous awards from the Cape Coral Police Department, was the lead pursuit driving instructor for the Cape Coral Police Department and police motorcycle instructor, and he served as the Cape Coral Police Explorer adviser for 16 years.

In his spare time, Jones enjoys soccer, BMX, tennis, golf and motorcycling.
